Joshua Durando

Manager of Workplace Experiences

Joshua Durando is POAH’s Manager of Workplace Experiences where he develops, implements, coordinates and tracks programs and policies based on initiatives and related frameworks developed by POAH Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Working Group.  He is responsible for training and development, including creating a training curriculum for supervisors and all staff cohorts and other DEI trainings as needed.  Joshua oversees recruitment of new employees, including support to hiring managers for job postings, outreach and recruitment strategies and reviewing applications to ensure that qualified applicants are presented to hiring managers for review.

Prior to joining POAH, Joshua served as the Director of Volunteer & Alumni Relations for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston where he managed volunteer, alumni, and scholarship operations for all 11 BGCB sites. He served as a member of the BGCB’s DEI Committee and co-led the organization’s Company Culture Working Group, successfully building DEI capacity across the organization and ensuring internal alignment on goals. He also served as Commissioner for the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth, a 50 member Commission advising state government on effective resources, policies, and programs for LGBTQ youth for a 2 year term from 2019-2021, and currently serves on the Board for Pride Sports USA as their Director of Community Engagement. 

Joshua holds a ​Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Temple University in Philadelphia and a ​Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
