Denise Nelson Robinson is a project manager who oversees POAH’s properties in the Washington D.C./Maryland area and is working with the development team for Barry Farm, a revitalization project covering 25 acres in Southeast Washington D.C.
Denise collaborates with POAH’s housing partners, the D.C. Housing Authority and A&R Development Corp. on the design and rehab work for Barry Farm and maintains relationships with local and federal government officials, contractors, architects and others to ensure its success.
She worked as a Development Officer, Public Finance for the Washington, DC Finance Agency and managed the development and construction of large scale urban infill or rehabilitation projects, including underwriting, predevelopment, closing, construction monitoring, monthly requisition review and approval, and post construction analysis.
She served an internship with the Neighborhood Development Company in Washington, DC where she created a comprehensive development finance model for a $32 million mixed-use affordable housing project financed by low income housing tax credit equity, public subsidy & tax exempt bond proceeds.
Prior to her housing career, Denise worked as a Tax Research Supervisor for ZC Sterling Real Estate Tax Solutions in Raleigh, NC and as a senior insurance associate for Hazard Insurance.
She holds an M.B.A. in Real Estate from the University of North Carolina and a B.S. from Hampton University in Hampton, VA.
