| POAH's first purchase in the District of Columbia was Garfield Hill Apartments, a 94-unit family development located in the Southeast quadrant of the nation's capitol. Preserving Garfield Hill was important; between 2000 and mid-2007, Washington DC lost 15% of its subsidized housing inventory, and researchers estimate as many as 10,000 additional rental units are vulnerable over the next five to eight years. | |
